I'm cynical it will in the long run. People tend to forget that the PS2 kept shifting decent numbers in third-world shitholes like Brazil long after it was relevant in the West, which doesn't look like it'll be happening with the PS4.

ps2 was released in 2000. a dvd player at the same was a huge selling point alone

I was an idiot for selling my ps2 years ago and now I'm getting by with emulation but I'm getting an itch to grab a cheap ps2 from ebay.

A 4k ps4 will Not sell well since a 4K tv is probably 2-3 times the price of the console.
