I thought it was alright. I found the main character quite boring, both personality and design wise, and some weapons were completly pointless.

Super Metroid is still the undisputed king of 2D Metroidvanias IMO.

i thought the majority of weapons were useless desu. once you get the flame thrower, there's little reason to use anything else. the progression of the game also just kinda throws em all out to you when there's very little game left.

i think he could have probably cut down the number of guns to about six or so, and made some necessary to have to be used at one point or another.
