What started as jokes turned into genuine dislike. People got mad. Then some group from /mk8g/ who started a skype group which killed it, came in and started trolling and riling people up.

So as a way to "fix" things, they opened up a discord. Then the discord users started harassing and spamming the /ssbg/ till it died.

Ssbg in its early days was pretty comfy till salt and tension broke out and people getting mad for not being recognized.

Yes it was, I don't disagree but that was as a result of lack of recognition, salt and mini groups forming. I.e people got friendly with particular ones. The discord I felt exenuated the problem however, but fighting games of all kinds make that happen, be it in person or not.

Kart could have lasted if the discord chaps didn't decide to get bored and stir up issues.

To each their own but its pretty counter productive to do it so early when there would be far greater profit doing it later.

To be fair anon, barring some time trial lunatic fanatics, within the 150cc spectrum it really doesn't matter what weight class you play, they're all viable.

The prime meta game, if there is any is such

>your ability to survive in the crowd
>your ability to break away from the crowd and compete/outrun the leading player/s

How you do it is up to you. 200cc is the only real consideration you need when making a weight class choice but I use a goddamn cruiser and can still drive OK. Crashing into walls is still a hassle but not as much.

Hey I maintain no delusions that it will last long but now that mk8 is fresh again with an ACTUAL battle mode It needs to happen. But I am open to ONE alternative however:

Either one of two things will happen, we all together will agree we need to scrap the concept of a 'veekend' and just make threads daily throughout the week OR veekend remains and we restart mk8g.
The entire impetus behind the concept of the veekend was to validate the general on /vg/ and get mod intervention to stop. This is no longer an issue.
Daily organic tbreads on /v/ or /mk8g/ on /vg/; I do not care which.
