There are interesting things they could try with time-management, though I doubt they'll do it. Personally, I'd be interested in seeing them attempt to do an entire Persona game, but where the plot takes place over the course of, say, a month, and your actions are a lot less restricted in terms of how much time they make up (e.g. S.Links only take 1 hour of your time). Not exactly sure how you'd work a plot around it, but I was envisioning something more akin to the earlier Persona games in that there's a more immediate threat that needs to be hunted down before X deadline.

Honestly, these games give you too much SP so there's barely any time management regarding palaces.
You should have like half of what it is now so you actually need a few trips to finish a palace and make you actuakky want to fucking retreat at every other save room unless you have 5 snuff souls up your dick.
You'd also need to use normal attacks way more and keep spells for when you REALLY need them, like a 5 enemy battle.

In Japanese version, it's a reference to Megami Tensei 1, as in the NES game, alternatively the first game's remake in KMT.
You were Nakajima and teacher was Yumiko.
It's also a reference to Megami Tensei 2 in a way because in MT2, the events of MT1 are presented as an in-universe videogame, the same angle that Persona 3 tackled.
They changed it to Persona 2 reference since nobody in the west played MT1 back then as it wasn't translated.

I think they improved the shadow okumura and shadow shido fights, swapping between party members whenever they stopped covering each wave's weakness was nice because I had to wager whether or not I'd need that turn I spend swapping or not. With Shido it helped since his first phase is completely impervious to physical attack so I could just bring all magic casters and swap them out later.

Am I weird for never using the character-swapping function?

When I unlocked it I realised it consumed that character's turn- the character you swap in can't act until the next round- and unless you use Joker's precious turn you also can only swap out the character whose turn it currently is (also you can't swap out someone with a status ailment).
eg. Shadow Okumura was a bitch. The only way I could beat him was to kill the Shadows all in a single turn. Swapping party members would just exacerbate that problem because it means things are left alive, which means they get a turn, which means they can hunger you/exploit your weakness/explode and deal a shitload of damage to everyone/generally assrape you.
