I think the Halo games, depsite how slow they are and what they did to the genre, deserve a lot of praise for actually putting effort both into singleplayer and multiplayer and having full experiences for both in one package, wheras most other FPS franchises clearly have one or the other as a focus and half asses the other.

Also, even 4 and 5, despite having a ton of issues, have decent single player campaigns relative to the throw away ones most FPS's get these days.
