First off, there is a friendship/rivalry system in the game. Even if you keep "losing" friendship with anyone of your party members, you will be gaining rivalry with that member which works in a completely similar way (even with romances, you can have a "rivalmancy" instead of a "proper" friendship romance), so every player who's autistically picking the top choice every time because it's the "good" thing to say is a fucking asshole who failed to understand the game's relationship mechanic. You can completely disagree with everything a party member does and still unlock bonuses and conversations with them by gaining more rivalry instead of friendship.

Second, even if there wasn't a rivalry system, becoming gay with Anders would just mean you were autistically trying to max your friendship with him which means (You) started flirting with him at some point and chose to not break it off, kinda like DSP did with Cortez in his Mass Effect 3 playthrough because he always *had* to pick the top choice because it's the "good" choice.
