it's aggressively mediocre

The gameplay isn't the worst thing ever, but the varying quality of level design (ranging from "okay" to "literally a fucking hallway") and absolute lack of personality or charm just makes you wish you played an actual MM game.

I haven't played it yet, OP.

I'm lucky enough to not have been a backer though, since I got a little hype for it being like the second coming of MMX (which could have been great), or at least like a ghost of MM2 (objectively the best), But instead I hear it's like the MM4 of games, full of useless junk and crap gimmicks, ultimately mediocre (which isn't a reason alone for hating it, I think the backers felt burned as fuck so it got a lot of hate for NOT being gotyay).

On the other hand, I'm still mad that NotRoll was the choice that won. We could have had so much more Call E fanart.
