it's a good series, I'd recommend trying it. I played the original on Vita and the second game and I liked Gravity Rush 2 a lot more for some reason. Still considering picking up the remaster at some point but I like physical games which means paying $50+ right now for GR1.

I bought this game just because it was damn near the only thing that seemed to draw attention to the Vita.

I had no idea Kat was so HNNNGH when I bought it.

It's a distinctly Japanese take on the inFamous/Crackdown/Prototype formula with an art-style that falls somewhere between Studio Ghibli and Moebius. If that sounds like the kind of thing to appeal to you, chances are you'll enjoy it.

Just keep in mind that the GR2 demo is pretty awful. It's literally the E3 2015 build so it has some performance issues, and GR kind of sucks when you're restricted the way you are in the demo.

It's better to go off of how you like GR1. GR2 is basically the same but not a pathetic 10 hours and more polished gameplay-wise. Lunar alone can be worth it.

It's a great game where your enjoyment depends on how well you utilize the mechanics given to you.
Story is just a side dish but acceptable imo. My main enjoyment came from how well your movement goes along with the music.
Flying around Lei Havina looking at the vast space while traversing the area never got boring to me.
Featuring hype finisher and decent sidequests, which I all finished

This series is the most unfiltered fun I've had with games in over a decade

If you can look past the shit combat and come at it like it was a PS2 game you will have a fucking blast.

Kat is cute and all but that doesn't really add to the game, it's solid on mechanics alone and would still be fun if you were an untextured box flying around

I think a big problem is that people don't bother trying to git gud. Lots of people just suck at this game.

Combat is kind of shitty, but GR2 did a lot to help, with lunar being an absolute god send for flying enemies. Yet way too often I see people trying to gravity kick in normal style only to get dodged at the last second.

the first half is good when its more exploration focused. the last like quarter is legitimately shit though when the focus becomes 100% on the not fun combat. ok game overall, i'd recommend it if its on sale for like $5, wouldn't pay more than $10

This. Gameplay (aside from combat) and music are the strong points, in both the original and the sequel. Overall, the story is a bit weak, but I liked the weird interactions between characters that had nothing to do with the narrative.
