You've never played Sonic 06. XV has some shitty moments but nothing comes close to Sonic. FFXII is actually q good comparison because they're both subpar games the had troubled development cycles and had new directors muck up the original vision.

The fight was clunky as all hell but it still functioned. There are (many) parts in Sonic 06 where it's difficult to get through without the game bugging out and forcing a retry. Falling through floors, stuck in walls, dying from nothing, etc are all common occurrences in that game. Leviathan fight was shit but it at least worked.

Honestly I felt the Adamantoise fight was worse though. What a mess.

Just platinum'd last night. Easily one of the worst games Square has produced, however I have not played FF13. Chock full of bad design and and overall test of patience.

All I can say good about out the game is that I loved the towns and environments and got a modicum of enjoyment out of the combat.
