I like fightans but I think games who do this are fucking dumb, they should focus on making inputs easy(like fireballs or launchers/throws or similar special non-neutrals) and let the game become about reading the opponent.

Probably said by the same people who jump into every uppercut and cry about excessive fireball spam. Read a fucking book if you want reads, but like an E-book because those pesky physical ones require a great deal of dexterity to handle.

It's still a fucking videogame, you will be expected to put in *some* practice, remember stuff, press some button combinations and what not. Yeah there's plenty of reads, recognizing patterns and all that smart stuff but if you can't be assed to also practice your finger skills and get combos and moves into your muscle memory, tough fucking luck

I feel like Pokken did the low skill floor thing better than smash. You literally never need to touch training mode to do well in that game.

Smash and most other fighting games require some level of training mode autism in order to not get bodied. People who are incapable of consistently performing spaced short hop aerials are at a giant disadvantage in Smash, basically to the same degree as people who can't do the DP motion in SF.
