It doesn't need a remake. The graphics already look really great and have aged well. Unless you're one of those militantly anti-pixel art guys. If they did a remake you can be sure the art will be some crappy subcontractor work that looks awful.

It's also on a console that has an emulator program for pretty much every platform so it's not like a remake would even increase availability

I mean, there was a DS remake but I assume you mean like a fullblown remake with new graphics and what not.

DS remake was silly because there was a glitch that let you get infinite tabs. Some nice * speed on everyone.

It added some things like a new ending tying in to Chrono Cross, some new areas, a new translation, stuff like that.

A remake in the same way Cave Story got one would be cool, but some of the sprites will be hard to up the resolution on since they get such a perfect look even if low res, like the Golem bosses.
