The very first puzzles were the casual filters.
That one was the autist filter.

It is the last puzzle I have left in area 2, it is too daunting to me, wat do?

I thought the $30 pricetag was casual filter enough.

>>376104214
It's extremely easy and just takes some slight mental effort to map out. I think it introduces a new mechanic though, which you need to understand to beat.

Cut trees with branches lying on the road in Grouch/Rocko's Quest, you walk into them and die, and it's very close to the beginning of the first mission. Then comes shit like moving platforms over deathly below (water), closing walls, ropeclimbing with saws or something equally dangerous, boulders rolling on small roads in mountains, more jumping, big swinging axes, saws from the walls, stake pits, stakes, icicles, lava with fireballs out of lava, more rolling rocks.

The game had me in a level with botomless pits where you have to move using moving platforms and fucking swinging platforms. I couldn't continue at the part when you have to jump from a swinging platform on a swinging platform. The game has no manual saves.
>>
>>376104493
You're right, there are more than one new concepts, but the rolling on sausages one is not as immediately obvious.

I just beat Abyss Watchers, and the only exceptionally difficult part was keeping a good distance and not getting caught in phase 2's long combos. Iudex was more of a difficulty spike, especially as a first Souls game.

The only real casual filter in that game would be Midir, and even him it's pretty easy once you figure out his patterns.
Or maybe Nameless King, and that's a big maybe.

The only annoying attack she has is a spin to win move that goes on forever.

souls players keep saying this, and although it's true, they don't understand that they've basically perfected the meta-skill of getting good, while most people haven't. souls games are harder than 99.5% of video games.

>>376106342
No. It's a Metroidvania. It has nothing in common with Dark Souls when it comes to the mechanics. It is very *thematically* similar to Dark Souls though. It's good if you like exploration. All of the areas are deeply interconnected. You can only update the map at save points which means you have to rely on your mental model of the area when exploring areas you haven't been to before. You have to find an area's map before you can even jot things down too.

Salt and Sanctuary is much more of a straight 2D Dark Souls game.

>>
>>376105290
I don't understand why you're even comparing them.
Stephen's Sausage Roll requires you figure out a single, exact, specific solution to its puzzles.
SpaceChem just demands specific outputs of you, and you can generate them in an absurd amount of ways. It's extremely open-ended.
They're not even remotely similar. I almost feel like they shouldn't even be considered the same genre.

>>376105686

>>376105905

I found Nevan to be much more bullshit. All those bats and life drain. But yeah, several years ago when I finished DMC4 I tried completing DMC3 but couldn't get past the doggo even though I had beat him before. Finished it not too long ago and found the non-boss enemy variety lacking. The roster might seem much bigger than DMC4 with 20+ enemies but it's not, really. All those chess pieces and scythe dudes.

Sure, anon, that and her wanting to take you in her delicate hand is pretty scary because it's pretty damaging and heals her. But explaining why the boss is bullshit doesn't make her less bullshit. Even when she was defenseless I didn't feel like I was doing enough damage to her. The most damaging thing for her was the Rising Dragon move or whatever from Beowulf and the player gets that weapon only after beating her and I screwed up with it a couple of times and missed her completely.

i don't like this game because it feels very inelegant in its design. even when i solve a puzzle i feel like i went about it the wrong way, i barely learn anything from the puzzles i do. after playing the witness i guess i'm kind of spoilt because solving some of those puzzles i had real moments of clarity and realisation. this is just slamming my head against the keyboard in the hopes that eventually i will solve the puzzle.

To be honest with you, it took me about 5 to 10 minutes to get around. And I'm an adult who is considered by his peers to be intelligent.
I hail from a culture that writes and reads from right to left. Looking at the card and the bells and seeing that the scroll is on the left on both, the key is in the middle and the sword is on the right, I figured there's no given order in the card. "Surely, this is a riddle of combinatorics!" If no order is specified, the code scroll-key-sword-key-sword could just as well be written as a total of 1 scroll, 2 keys and 2 swords.
So I tried going from right to left. 2 strokes of the sword, 2 of the key and 1 of the scroll. Didn't work. I then tried mixing it up and picking unique combinations of 1 scroll, 2 keys, 2 swords. Only after a bunch of attempts, I thought "Wait a minute. This is an American game designed for American players" and hit the bells from left to right, and it worked.

I'm not proud of it, and I'm not ashamed of it either. I just find it to be a reason to mock the developers for making such a baby-toy tier or a "puzzle" for their American target audience.

It means ''normal'', but it's a bit of a weird translation. I think in english it's supposed to say something like ''common/not rare'', but you wouldn't really translate that to Gewoon in that context.

Thanks for telling us your story.
Already that part was a low point in gaming, but you've taught us to hate it all over again.

Yeah, they're unrelated. Gewonnen just means like ''has/have won''.

Ik win.
Ik won.
Ik heb gewonnen.

Gewoon can have quite a few different meanings: normal, plain, ordinary, usual, simple, habitually. You only rarely see it as a translation of ''common'', but I guess it sort of works.

giantdad is a meme build
its not meant to be a be-all end-all op build
anyone with half a brain knows how to counter that
>>
>>376118602
The thing is that the current giant dad is heavily nerfed, on launch they where the strongest option you could have (huge health and defense, one hit = stunlock to dead, ninjaflips)

3 is pretty fucking good, better that to at the very least, and better than most games released last year.
