What I really don't understand is how people enjoy FPS with a controller?
It feels like shit, you control your character like a bipedal tank with limited turn speeds, and if you actually want to hit thing you'll have to rely on auto-aim which is literally not-you playing.
I don't get whats the enjoyment in it, its like playing soccer when both your legs are amputated at the knees, and you just sort of shuffle around trying to kick with your stumps, it just feels bad.

Also where are the actual games with bipedal tanks like Mechwarrior and shit? Where the controls with a controller would be actually fitting and immersive.

If you never touch M+KB it's a tolerable control scheme. Not amazing, but tolerable. I almost never play PC games myself but I have played System Shock 2 so I've had a taste of that kind of fluidity and really, it's just people not knowing any better. I hardly ever play FPS in general though so fuck it, not like it really matters to me one way or the other.

In my case it was never the mouse that dissuaded me but rather the keyboard. I get now that it's not that big of a deal but when you've played on consoles all your life it's really hard to think of a keyboard as a controller so I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of people got hung up on that as well. It'll make it faster. 80% sens on consoles is manageable. I don't know if your only reference for shooters is CoD but I don't know of a single game where "you'll HAVE to realy on auto-aim if you want to hit a thing" which was your original point. The first two Medal of Honor and heck even Tenka were playable with the controller on PS1,sadly people can't into them,they want that fugly aim assist gimmick and those are the results:

I used to always play games on consoles, was good at FPS on console and found playing on a controller fine. However I've now been playing on my PC for a few years, the other day I went and played the Prey demo on console and found it painful to aim.
