I didn't fall for the nier story at all, and I actively tried to enjoy it, the soundtrack is pretty good though, I'll admit. Narratively it relied far too much on making everything apocalyptic and sentimental in the most anime way possible and it just ended up rubbing me the entirely wrong way.

It hit me in the right spot as someone who enjoys RPGMaker games (mostly the horror and surreal ones). I played the PSP one mostly but I have played a little of the Steam version and 3DS version. If you're going to pick a best version then go for the 3DS one, it has everything plus a bit more.

It's a few small things but I prefer the SNES version's art style, nice 2D cutscenes and you have some nice on-couch multiplayer & it's easier to netplay with since the DS seems to be a pain to do that shit with, plus I guess the audio quality is technically better but it never bothered me. I kind of wish someone would port all the new stuff to the SNES game but no one is going to and I'm not even sure if it'd be possible.

Definitely prefer the SNES art and music. SNES Super Star had tons of background animation, and very expressive sprites and character portraits, which are gone or more subdued in Ultra. Pic related in Ultra would be missing the swaying grass, flowing water, and surprised/worried bomb ability portrait.
I feel Ultra's new content and minor improvements outweigh the negatives though.

Damn, Star Fox 2 would probably be on my 3x3 if I were to make one. It's heavily flawed I guess, especially being and feeling so incomplete since it's not the finished version, but the mix of flight combat, third person shooter, real time strategy, and light rougelite elements is very unique and works extremely well, imo.

With Jungle Beat, did you play the GameCube version with the bongo controller? I don't care for the Wii version.

Yeah it's almost scary how good the UI was presentation wise, I did feel there were some usability issues though like not being able to organize your items and not being able to explicitly see what status ailment someone is inflicted with. These have been problems since Nocturne so it's kind of bothersome to still see them present 13 years later and yeah I'd take even the Space Ship and Cruise Ship over the 4's dungeons. While the dungeons weren't amazing I loved the whole sneaking around thing, fit the aesthetic of the game perfectly and it was a lot of fun. Also glad they decided to use Kaneko's demon designs for Shadows.

I played Jungle Beat on the Wii U, and it just wasn't too memorable.

Seeing the Personas modeled in 3D was fucking amazing. I had gone on complete media blackout regarding P5 before it came out, and seeing the combat menu was fucking incredible. Such a step up in every way.
I haven't played any SMT title, but I hear Nocturne is really great. The lack of SLinks is just... eh.

Depends on what you like about Persona, if you prefer the daytime stuff more then you probably wouldn't like it but if you like the dungeon crawling and combat then Nocturne does that much better. Although the fusions are annoying and purely RNG so you have to keep rerolling to get the skills you want which is very annoying.

1/1. I have distant memories of briefly playing Star Control 2. I think all kart racers are boring as fuck, as the point of a racing game is to go fast so why the fuck race with slow vehicles?
