If the franchise has taught us anything, it's that sequels don't necessarily improve on the previous game. I know Bloodborne could be improved from a gameplay point of view, but I doubt it would be a total success story.

That sounds awful and hackneyed. You ascend to a god at the very end of Bloodborne because the player is supposed to identify with the perspective of mankind, so once you're an entity that exists in an order that defies understanding there's no more story to be told for multiple reasons.

These games have only the most flimsy of bases to place a story on, and they're only for the sake of having a game around it (and I love BB lore and story for the fact that it IS so minimal and lets me fill in the gaps with speculation). Just another game that captured that atmosphere and improved upon some of the systems would be great.

What would you like to see for endgame this time around?

I think Chalice Dungeons were a good idea that just wasn't fully fleshed out enough. Three or four tilesets gets old, no matter how random the rooms it connects - it's still in a same-y corridor with one of four tilesets and rooms you've seen a hundred times.

What about something like a Hunt where it uses assets and areas from the base game and stitches them together sort of like D3 did? For instance a part of a forest level might lead to a door, which leads into a chapel from another part, which leads into a cave and so on. Along the way there would be random enemies, minibosses and other hunters that could be NPCs or other players and you could team up or compete. It would culminate in a random bossfight, the thing you initially set out to hunt. It could be hardcore mode where you only get one chance and if you die, you fail the hunt.
