Well with the exception of Soulcalibur and VF, I can't really think of any 3D fighting games have have 'good' animations really. SF looks like garbage in motion, Tekken is a mixed bag of decent and really wonky.
I think they're just hard as hell to animate, at least for fighting games that play more traditionally like 2D fighting games.
Doesn't really bother me though.

I have never felt this way. TvC in general does look worse than the other games, but that's probably because of the hardware that it was on. MOST of the animations in UMvC3 were fine to me, save for a few attack animations for some characters and some of Cap's animations, like his backdash.

I genuinely don't see how anyone could have a problem with SFIV or V's animations. They looked completely fine.
