Not even close. Every Macross either ignores the jet form completely for robot mode (M7), or ignores robot mode and only focuses on flying (everything else), there isn't much emphasis on fights against larger enemies that doesn't end in a stand down because song power.

I'm talking about combined arms mecha jet fights, and taking down giant robots with the power of honorobu sky knights while you fight against units that completely black out the sun or attack with disco lights.
