Those scenes where they reveal their plan didn't come out of nowhere. You do play through them but they're hazy because Joker is drugged.

Get the fuck out. That's like the most novel thing I've ever heard. Sounds totally different from all those plot twists where everything is explained hours in advance.

The most important one

>isn't in the opening video

>Get the fuck out. That's like the most novel thing I've ever heard.

The textbook novel would drop hints through the series instead of P5 where you literally can't know shit until explained
>>
At least persona 5 had a game attached to it. That makes it 50000% more better than that shit any day.
I wonder when western devs will get it that you can have a story like heavy rain and a enjoyable game to play along side it. No brushing your fucking teeth using a QTE is not a game.
>>
>>376063314
It just wasn't a plot twist, was obvious since the beginning
>>
>>376065850
No need to kid yourself, persona is like 70% visual novel, dungeons are short as fuck, beat it in 2-3 days and you have 20+ days to fuck around social shit and the mementos is pointless shit besides odd quests
>>
>>376065916
>was obvious since the beginning

Yeah i' sure you knew the treasure was a fake from the moment they got it right?
>>
>>376065850

As much as I like to suck Japan's dick when it comes to entertainment medium; western games in general aren't all bad. Heavy Rain however is especially bad mainly because David Cage is a poor writer and has the most stupid videogame design philosophy out there. He thinks videogames shouldn't have any sort of punishment to the player in general; which removes one of the things what makes a game to begin with. That guy shouldn't even write anything since his stories suck
>>

>>
>>376065850
Not an argument, HR is adventure game like you had point and click games back then.
Just because you don't like the formula doesn't make it automatically bad, it's the same if someone said X game is better because 60 hours out of 80 in P5 is wall of text with repeating the same tasks.
>>
>>376063314
so what was the twist?
"Igor"?
>>

The treasure wasn't fake, they didn't TAKE the treasure. You know how that's obvious? The Palace doesn't break down around you.

>>
>>376063314

it's almost like the game is a JRPG whose worth isn't entirely decided by the twist.
>>
>>376067125
The point of a twist is setting it up so you can figure out something is going to happen, not drop literally every fucking piece of the twist in front of you so there is no suprise. It would no longer be a twist. And the game beats you over the head with it's obnoxious forshadowing, which is only coupled with Akechi only kind of not really but kind of hiding the fact that he wants to lynch your scruffy ass.

Holy shit dude, are you retarded?
All of the elements building up to that point were pretty easy to notice if you just paid attention during the normal story.
Hell, you should have figured it out on your own at least by the time the guard's body disintegrated.
It was pretty obvious.

Also Persona 5 had more than fucking cutscenes for gameplay, so that's not a fair comparison by a fucking mile.

>>376065514
You must be retarded to not have expected some degree of unreliable narrator when the game is literally using the interrogation as a framing element.
What's more, you act like the game has been lying to you from the beginning, but anything actually relevant to the """twist""" was just during the Sae palace arc.
The real fault of the game if you want to think of it as a murder mystery is that it's simply too easy to tell Akechi is the traitor. It is insultingly easy, so for you to come here and tell me that the problem is the game hiding information from you can only tel me that you are in fact pretty retarded.
Your comparison with Heavy Rain is also pure bait. That game gives you straight up inconsistent and false information with no reason for it other than the writer fucking up. Persona 5 could have done the same (it didn't) and it wouldn't be out of place because the setting accounts for it.
>>
>>376067609
This
It wasn't hard at all to see all these things and the parts of the plan you don't see is because Joker is drugged as fuck that's why there's the option to sell your friends and fuck up the plan

Is it true in English only the second half came out on the playstation and the first half one the PSP?
>>
>>376072597
Yes.
I think there is also fan translation of PS1 version of Innocent Sin.
>>
>>376072597
Unfortunately, yes.

There's a fan translation of Eternal Punishment PSP at the moment though. Translator says that a 2017 is possible, though I'd say you should expect a late 2018 release by that wording.
>>
>>376072971
If there already is an english script, it can't take THAT long to implement, right?
>>
>>376072558
The plot wasn't amazing by any means, but it wasn't guilty of any of the things which OP accused it of.
>>
>>376073051
Translator is apparently working on other things as well. Eternal Punishment is a low priority project since it was dumped onto them by TradukoSoft.
>>
So during the time when Joker was ambushed, I still don't get it, is that the real world or still in Sae's palace? The police force obviously wasn't in the palace, so that means they apprehended Joker when he got out of the metaverse, but why does he still have his costume?
>>
How is P5 even close to Shelby literally lying to himself in his own inner thoughts.
>>
>>376073192
>The police force obviously wasn't in the palace

You're told the exact opposite. They were brought into the metaverse to arrest him.
>>
So you prefer that the game tells you the plot twist at the very beginning with no subtlety at all? Aren't plot twists supposed to be hard to read in advance?
>>
>>376073192
The police were in the Metaverse thanks to... Akechi? I can't remember the details, but it is absolutely still inside the Metaverse. Remember that Ryuji and MC accidentally brought Ann with them to Kamoshida's Palace? It's the same idea.
>>
>>376073307

It's fair to say that the character interactions are a big draw for me. I also love the character, persona, and palace designs.

There's only a couple things they don't tell you, and anyone smart enough is rolling their eyes when the game literally has to walk you through pretty much everything you figured out beforehand.

You mean the sections of the game where it's clear you and your team is talking about something in black and white?

Even if they don't reveal the details of the conversation until after the twist, it's clear what is going on.
>>
>>376067260
>>376068252
You keep saying that it's obvious there was a twist, which no one is debating. The problem is that you have no way to tell what the plan is. The game offers absolutely nothing to allow the player to tell that they went back to the palace and set up a fake cognitive MC for Akechi to find and kill, because all of the scenes regarding this plan are hidden. There's clear foreshadowing that there's something going on, but there's no foreshadowing of what is going on.

There is clear forshadowing, you just have to not be retarded.
