Just got this gem.
what am i in for?
you can't return a humble bundle...
so nothing.
A very simple grand strategy game that might be a good game after buying 5 DLCs

A hell of a lot of waiting around so you can click on a thing so you can wait more.
Being annoyed at the sector system and the shit AI.
If all things collide just right, and you're on your first playthrough, quite a bit of fun.
Then modding the everloving fuck out of the game so it's actually decent - except the recent update wrecked most of the currently available mods.

Interesting early game followed by a mind numbingly boring end game.

crushing disappointment

How do you know its a gem if you dont know what you are in for you double nigger
Holy shit, talk about negativity.
Don't worry OP, the game isn't actually bad. That anon was right about the DLC though, the game feels really bare bones without it. The new expansion really helps in making each playthrough unique
Stellaris is a great game, though I can't speak for what it is like without the DLC's. I have about 600 hours in it.
I really enjoy how much you can customize your civilization; your race's appearance, traits, system of government and governing ethics, etc. It really contributes to the role playing aspect of it if you're into that.
One of my complaints is all the goddamn notifications, especially mid to late game. I'll be charging my fleet into battle and just want to focus entirely on that, but then I'll have constant notifications of some governor or scientist dying and having to assign a new one, prompts to survey planets, and a load of other shit. It helps that you can pause any time to sort that shit about, but it can still get annoying as fuck.

How do you know it's a gem if you haven't played it yet?
CONSTRUCTION COMPLETE
EVADING HOSTILE FLEET

Same. They throw in the dlcs now.
Of course it's paradox, the same fuckers who sold Nightime as dlc in skylines.
Real men play as Fanatical Purifiers and cleanse the galaxy of disgusting alien scum.

>he plays the same game over and over again instead of making new interesting civs each time
Half the fun is making up cool empires man.
