Not him but on a sort of related note I'm 100% sure the reason why so many BLMs at level 60 suck at this game is because the spell tooltip is poorly translated. Blizzard IV for example says "deals 280 potency, additional effect: enochian" and nothing else. Meanwhile enochian tooltip says each time it's overwritten, duration is reduced by 5 seconds. It makes no sense unless you go out of your way to google it or fail doing the mechanics and realizing the actual patterns behind how the tools work after many wipes.

The jobs that are supposed to be the support jobs (BRD/MCH) got hilariously overbuffed to the point of being the highest raiddps contributing jobs by far and even are even highest in personal dps on some fights and compositions. What the hell does Balmung or Gilgamesh offer more than mid population servers? It used to be because of the raid population or erp population but those two are absolutely irrelevant now that cross server datacenter PF exists. Anyone can make cross server statics, pugs, or even hook up through there.

Both Gilgamesh and Balmung are locked almost 24/7, meaning zero new players can get in unless they pay $18. It's damn rare to find a legitimate new players on Balmung or Gilgamesh in any zones, so most of the time you're by yourself with a Novice Network with no actual novices there.

Not to mention that it's impossible to find a house and those two servers have severe undercutting issues. Which leads to more people prone to buy from RMT so they can afford a house or dominate the marketboard by buying an item all out and relisting it.

Balmung has no RMT tellers because it's a waste of space given how rare it is the server opens. They use all the bots to run Wanderer's Palace 24 hours a day/seven days a week so they can farm gil. With how rare the server opens thanks to these farm bots, that's why RMT is so expensive. Bots get banned faster than they can make a new one on Balmung.

If they added DNC to XIV, and they still healed with TP, it would be a very interesting thing.

Support roles are either useless or mandatory, and if they're mandatory then they are doing nothing but taking away gameplay that could have been given to other roles to make them deeper and more involved. Imagine if the existing classes had no damage/mitigation cooldowns because they were all the job of the mandatory support class.

Furthermore, all classes in XIV end up as partial-DPS roles anyway, because all jobs have to be able to deal damage if for no other reason than to clear solo content. If anything if there was a support role, it should replace the DPS role and DPS would just be considered the role of all party members equally.

I think Necromancer would be great, but only if it were the FFV Necromancer and not some generic MMO necromancer with no ties to FF at all.

BLM doesn't raise party DPS either, has no battle Rez, and on average does lower damage as their cooldowns don't lineup perfectly like SMN for every phase change.

BLM right now is the MNK of casters except worse. No wonder Yoshi P is making enochian permanent and getting rid of thunders.

So take out tanks and healers and just make all content DPS-able? Would lessen dev stress for sure and perhaps they can improve raid design.
