I don't even meant this as a "girls suck at vidya" comment, but there's a shitload of girl Mercy-only mains who think they're better at the game than they are because they reached masters playing only Mercy. Mercy requires an entirely seperate form of playstyle from the rest of the fucking game, since she relies explicitly on just tethering people, then hiding when you have rez. The minute they try to play anything other than Mercy they'd drop rank because now they might have to actually worry about positioning, aiming, and ult management. Even the ones that play Lucio on the side play him super passive and don't know how to utilize wall-ride, boops, or his buffed damage correctly.

It sucks because I support main and it ruins potential support duos when your other person exclusively plays Mercy.

Honestly Mercy is just not fun to play against, she's an anti-carry. It doesn't matter how well executed your teamfight went, or how much you carried, a simple Q press undoes everything because a Mercy was hiding off in fuck-knows-where. It's even worse on some maps like Temple of Anubis or Gibraltar where you can literally hide IN SPAWN and rez so there's 0 chance of being picked. Mercy just needs to have her ult reworked, the rest of her is fine.

I never found her heal to be quite that strong, but I do agree that she has a rather heavy impact on the game but mostly though how much she can heal. Seems like if there's a mercy, you either need to kill her first every single fight, or have your own mercy. I've seen the amount of heals she can produce to fatigue even the strongest of holds.

Rez is noticeably stronger in mid-high tier games because both teams play around eachother, and typically will wipe together instead of staggering. 3-5 man rezzes are common in almost every single teamfight if no one picks the Mercy.
