Don't know about the books but in the game Geralt goes on way too much unrelated adventures to justify that the whole game is about saving Ciri. Meanwhile 90% of what Nier did he only did to save Yonah. There is no such thing as a Supcbros, faggot. Nobody, apart from Polish and Russian speakers, was able to read the books before playing the games. Because the official translations where published long after the release of the first two games.

Those that read the books are the individuals that loved The Witcher games more than anyone else, to the point they actually took some interest in the source material and went through all of it.

And everyone that has read the books will tell you that there is no such thing as "Liking the books, but not the games" because they are basically the same thing. CDPR did an incredible job in staying true to the source material. Characters, setting and lore in the books feel almost exactly like the ones of the game.
