Why are YOU allowed?

If your game lasts 2 hours, you deserve it.

Pro-consumer practices are an alien concept to Americans.

Don't refund the game if you liked it. Have some dignity.

If your entire game can be experienced in under 2 hours you don't deserve any money.

this - steam refunds should be decided by devs.

If a dev creates a classic and it just so happens to be around 1 hour 30 minutes wrong, it's absolutely fine to cap the refund period at around 15 minutes.

No game should last less than 2 hours. It's too little for the price games go for.
>>
It isn't allowed. You also forfeit the ability to own the game on that account ever again, and if you abuse it, it's taken away.
>>
>>376032497
That's no true at all, you can still buy a game after you have refunded it.

>>
>>376032785
Yeah, it's the law that you can refund it and re-buy if wanted so
>>
>>376032952
Yes. It ranges from a week to three
>>
>>376033000
That's not the point tho
AAA games might be bad but none of them can be finished in less than 2 hours by an average player
Indie games do that a lot
>>

>>
>>376029060
The 2 hour limit isn't a hard limit

I've had 8 hour "played" and gotten a refund
The 2 hour limit is just for automatic refunds

Early Access games can be refunded regardless of playtime when they leave Early Access. It's going to be funny to see how many people refund DayZ if/when it hits full release.

>>
>>376033000

If you're going to stoop to using retarded food analogies then I'll do the same.

>Order food at shitty hipster restaurant
>It's a tiny ball about an inch in diameter of various ingredients mashed together
>It's totally worth it dude, the experience will make you rethink about LGBTIQPMI!+!FJAFDS rights!!"
>Finish ball in one bite because its so tiny
>"Wow, that was incredibly shitty and not worth my money at all. If it had been any bigger I wouldn't have finished it either. I would like a refund for that awful experience"

On a side not, most decent restaurants are really decent with their refunds policy. One time I say to the waiter "food was lovely, but the meatball starter was just a little dry", I'd finished everything but they still didn't charge me for them. Because that's what businesses that want a good reputation do: they don't force people to pay or dissatisfactory service.

If I go to a restaurant and the food's bad, I make it a policy to stiff'em with the bill.
>>
>>376033225
>>376033524
>paying for a hooker at all
>>
>>376034131
Pretty much, i've worked as a waiter before and you'd be surprised how often people refuse to pay for their meal for even the most minimal reasons and you just have to accept it, because there's always the chance that it could negatively impact the restaurant.
>>
>>376033630
This is a common misconception. EU law has explicit loopholes for digital goods. For a while, Steam used the system where you can either buy the game but not be able to install/play it until the refund time expires, or sign away your right to a refund and download/play immediately. That was all EU law required of them, and it's what the vast majority of other digital sellers continue to do.
>>
>>376034675

I'll be honest, I wasn't expecting a refund at all since I had still finished my starter dish. I was just mentioning it thinking "I think the chef should know so he can try and improve for the next customers"
>>
>>376029204
Some of my favourite games only last 1 hr

But if your game lasts an hour but has insane replay value and is fun, yeah I agree.
>>
>>376029204
I pirated two indie game this week that each cost over $20 and could be easily finished in around 2 hours with zero replay value. A lot of fags will still argue that those games are "experiences' and you should pay for them, and I'm fine with those fags spending money so I can pirate more "experiences" like that in the future.
>>
Bait the thread
>>
>>376033046
No you goddamn cuck. It is a very innocent story of a girl finding the photos of her family after they passed away, and the stories of them.
>>
>make a shitty concept game
>get it on steam early access
>promise to update it regularly and do so for the first year
>after a year of lackcluster updates with little to no effort put towards them drop the game
>since you have tricked tons of people to think the game is being actively developed they have spent hours upon hours on it for "playtesting" and hyping
>walk away with dat steam money since people arent allowed to refund
why is this allowed?
>>
>>376029060

>Buy PS4 and P5 from Walmart

>Return after binging for a few days

>Get CC/DC/Cash refund

Why is this supposedly allowed?
>>
>>376037432
It isn't, i believe it is possible to refund Early Access games after it has been in EA for a certain amount of time.
>>
>>376029770

>>376036389
if they're your favorite, then you won't refund them
because the game is good
>>
Not my fault if your game is shorter than 2 hours and doesn't have any type of demo or trial.

I want to make sure the game works on my configuration, there are no memory leaks, the gameplay mechanics are what were promised, etc.
>>
>>376029060
>new game barely works at first
>have to screw around in files before you can finally play it
>ends up crashing all the time
>oh look that process took over 2 hours
>you're now stuck with a broken game with no hope for a refund
>>
>>376040265
You can still get a refund beyond the 2 hour mark, it just isn't automated anymore.
>>
>>376029060

>want to try out PUBG
>early access
>$30
>buy it, install it, launch it
>regularly get sub 30 FPS
