No. They're mostly unimaginative and generally not very good. I'd much rather go back to the 90's era JRPG trend with pre-rendered assets and immersive worlds.

souls and nioh are both great and very creative games, Code Vein isn't out yet but looks promising the other two are some plolish turd by the same devs but them being shit and generic isn't the fault of the souls formula

I personally enjoyed Nioh as much, or even more, as Dark Souls 3. Liked Lords of the Fallen, but I only finished once. I'm optimist about the other two.

Yeah they're alright.

I'm not a fan of stamina bars and the movesets heavily favour simplicity, but I just like action games and they still do allow you to play aggressively without being braindead so yeah.

Bamham/Asscreed combat is the one I don't really find fun at all.

I loved the look of LotF but holy shit the game was not fun to play and the bosses were boring as fuck. Made it past the second boss a bit and then just lost any ability to care about the game. Hope the Surge is better.

If the Nioh threads taught me anything, it's that no matter how good a Souls clone is, /v/ will shit on it for not being a 1:1 Dark Souls 1 clone and how the only thing the board cares about is the lore, not the gameplay.
So, if you want to discuss any of those games your best bet is going somewhere else.

No idea how much the game changed since December, but once you reach floor 15 the game becomes cheaply unfair. Enemies OHK you and retrieving your character becomes insanely expensive.
I enjoyed it immensely before it. Still, if you're liking it you should keep playing it.

I really like what I'm seeing from The Surge and how people have described the preview builds. There's a few novel mechanics I hope they can pull off. Maybe they'll learn from their mistakes in LotF. Might be worth a pirate at least.

I get that Momodora is a metroidvania and so on but Souls are basically 3d metroidvanias to begin with and it was clearly heavily inspired by Dark Souls anyway.
