Game is great. The thing is that this is a weaboo website. If somethin non-weeb is a direct competitor to weeb related game is gonna get shat on. Doesn't matter if its good or bad. It's my relaxation game, plus when my mother brainwashed my son in to thinking that god holds earth in his hands, I pulled NMS out and showed him planets and how they just hang in space. Finished it yesterday and I loved it. The worldbuilding and lore was great, the story itself was also very good though a bit predictable at times. This is one of the finest post apocalyptic settings in media imo.

I especially liked how they handled the whole technology misunderstood as mysticism thing, because despite everything the Nora weren't actually wrong about there being a goddess inside the mountains. And Aloy, her story is something out of a Greek myth. A great warrior born of a goddess who tames fearsome creatures, ends the shadow and destroys a demon.

Gameplay wise, the game has it's flaws or maybe not flaws perse, but there's more they could have made to expand things a bit. But it's clear they focused on the setting and lore a lot. I especially liked when you see why the Nora call their warriors brave, and why their religion is matriarchal.

The one thing I hated though, the post credit scene. Those 8 seconds single handedly destroyed the perfect stand alone ending the game had for sequel bait.

Okay, I'll bite.
The game is good. It isn't bad. It's not bad at very many things, mostly bad at human enemies. Level design for the bandit camps almost makes up for this, and there's enough machines that are engaging and unpredictable to fight that the human enemies kinda just fade into the background anyway. Still a pretty big problem but the thing is I get chills every time I reach a new vista and see a Stormbird in the distance, or sneak past a T-Rexbot, or wander into a fight between crocbots and bandits and just watch it unfold.

It's about a 7.5 but a good 7.5, like it'd be an 8 were it not for a major element of the game being a 4.

It's impossible to discuss this game here which is why no one talks about it. I have tried to start threads about it but it quickly dissolves into shitposting and shitflinging. It doesn't help that Mass Effect 1 fanboys are so damn delusional, once one even said that the one reason Mass Effect 1 was the best in the series was because it had potential as if that was something that you factor in deciding whether a game is good or not.

Unlike all the Zelda fan boys who make a thread every 2 seconds to get other people to agree with them that the game was GOAT just to make themselves feel better about wasting way too much time on a game, which tbqfh was mediocre! I've played and completed both and I can easily say I had more fun with horizon, zelda was too slow, combat was on par with Skyrim, climbing everywhere was a chore, dungeons/shrines way too easy and the Gannon boss fight was a massive anti climax! But it's all very subjective, that's just my opinion!!

I played both and I liked Zelda more but in the end they're pretty much two heads of the same coin. One is more focused on combat and story, while the other on exploration.

Both I think should stand out as the pinnacles of the action adventure genre.
