The "correct" way of adding Japanese voices is bullshit.
I extracted both the English voices and the Japanese voices, and they have the same file structure. Kevin's "No problem!" in the language toggle in the options menu is ED6T1296 in both files, but when I pack just the Japanese voices (ED6T1000 to ED6T1940) it instead plays ED6T1290, Kevin's KO quote.
I haven't yet figured out if all the other voices are also displaced by 6 files.

Has anyone made it work this way?

This game is a nightmare. I just went over the 4 character party limit and already can't decide who to use. It's only going to get worse from here. At least in FC and SC they took your dudes away sometimes.

Actually the japanese voices are a part of the sfx files the ED6_28 or something. I replaced the sfx without touching the english voice files and now I can switch between both without any problems.

Everything plays correctly so far up to chapter 2 and you can switch midgame in the options menu

I'm a retard but I managed.

Skip this if you don't care how:
What I didn't realize was that when the post said to do the process on an empty USB stick, HOW you copy the files there matter IF it's FAT32.
What I did wrong was selecting the files and instead of copying/pasting, I dragged the files with my mouse. The files were then copied in the order I had it selected, starting from the file my cursor was dragging (T1935.wav), and only THEN copying T1000.wav and on from there.
This wouldn't be a problem if not for a FAT32 quirk, in that the filesystem served CMD the files in the order they were copied.
I just formatted my USB stick to NTFS instead to be absolutely sure because NTFS serves files already sorted, and it worked.

I'm gonna test it with all the characters I currently have now.

Yes, I had it working with just replacing ED6_DT28.dat, too, but it bothered me that Sara said you shouldn't need to replace any files. I hadn't encountered any problems so far, but I still set out to try the "proper" way (the one intended by Sara?).

I mean in all honestly, it's probably just too expensive for them. It's not them acting like Jews if they go into the red just to license Japanese audio. The Kiseki games are pretty popular in Japan, so there's probably some bigger names involved with the VA that make it expensive. And since the Trails games are so text heavy, they cost a ton to localize. A lot of the labor put into the game was done in XSeed employee's free time just because they love the series despite SC/3rd most likely not being worth the investment. They gotta cut costs somewhere for us to get the games.

For those having trouble against Mueller, my friend managed to beat him on nightmare, his strat was basically this apparently.
