About to play Deus Ex for the first time. Any essential mods/fixes?

Use DeuxExe (http://kentie.net/article/dxguide/index.htm) and the D3D10 renderer (http://kentie.net/article/d3d10drv/index.htm) for extra graphical options.
That's all you need for your first playthrough.

I played through it vanilla style just fine.
Modfags will most certainly try to persuade you it's unplayable without some shitty fixes.

It's an old game, I just to make sure it's going to work. Vanilla VtMB was full of game breaking bugs.

Those mechanics aren't clunky. They work like you'd expect them to.

Revision is crap. It has a lot of nice ideas but their implementation is half-assed. I liked how one part of the Hell's Kitchen map had a high speed train passing overhead, but you never see anything cool like that in the other maps. The detail is so jarringly inconsistent.
