Which game genre is something you just can't get into, /v/?

For me it's strategy games like Starcraft or Civilization, or even Final Fantasy Tactics. I can play lots of other genres, but as long as I can control up to 4 characters or so.
>>
Clickers. and they're not something I just cant get into. They're utter shit and dont deserve to be called games. At least candy crush, bejweled and other phone shit have some element of gameplay to them.

You can't get into Metroid OP? I mean I could understand the first two games, but everything after that is really easy to get into and fun.

Do you just dislike the exploration aspect or do you find the game too boring overall?
>>
>>376014364
It's fun, but the exploration just puts me off. Backtracking feels like a chore.
>>
>>376015072

It's not as bad as you think though.

Sure Metroid Prime 1 had some disgusting backtracking. I spent two hours yesterday getting all the artifacts and even with a guide, it was a huge waste of time.

The 2D games don't have a lot of serious backtracking, the worst you'd ever come across would be finding a power up in one section and then having to go back through that section to another section to use it. It can sometimes take an upward of 10 minutes or so, but it's really not bad.

You should give Zero Mission a try again.

Driving
Sports
Fighting

Fucking stupid, boring genres.
>>
>>376015237
I would definitely try it again next week, I'm taking a break from playing games right now. Thanks!

Glad I could be of some help, I hope you enjoy the game, anon.
>>
RTS and Grand Strategy
I guess I just don't have the patience or the quick thinking needed to be good at them.
>>
>>376014096
Sports, and some fighting games. I simply cannot find joy in them. I don't know how others do it.
>>
>>376014096
MOBAs

cancerous, boring, ugly shit
>>
turn based rpgs, outside of pokemon which i think has had nostalgia powering me through it all these years

tried earthbound, loved it for a while but got bored around the time you get poo
tried ff6, didn't last long enough to do anything memorable
tried hyperdimension neptunia, after you figure out the optimal strategy every fight is basically the same, barely lasted longer than 3 major areas

also any sports (ball) game although i can't say i've really given any of them a shot outside playing madden once or twice with a friend and not caring to play more than 30 mins
>>
JRPGs, the gameplay just feels boring regardless of the JRPG and being stopped every few steps to engage in a forced battle I can't escape from or I'll be under-leveled for the upcoming boss is annoying.

The only ones I can really get into are the ultra basic ones like notable Nintendo RPGs. Games like Pokemon, Paper Mario, Earthbound, Mario and Luigi and so on because they always feel like they either put a refreshing take on the genre or have to an extent humorous writing.

I managed to play through FF7 to the end but that was it and even that game's story was dragging for me towards the end.

/v/ actually has some decent people who want to help out, who would of thought
>>
>>376015496
Fighting games are absolute gold if you play it with friends. It's even more fun if none of you have any idea on how to play the game properly.
>>
>>376014096
turn-based

so boring waiting for the other person to play just make it real time already
>>
FPS
RTS
Sports

My reactions and on-the-spot planning are too trash-tier to be even passable at the first two, and most sports bore me.

I can't get into First person anything because I got motion sickness.
It's so bad I have to give up The Witness and Talos Principle, even though I like puzzle game.
>>
Strategy/Tactics RPGs, turn-based strategy in general, and cRPGs like Fallout 1 & 2 and Baldur's Gate. I've tried and wanted to get into games from each of these categories, and I just haven't been able to. I just get bored.

Change fov
Most of the time I've heard people having trouble with the speed of the movement and fov.
Talos which is a puzzle version of Serious Sam is option porn so get some lube, tissues and wank of to the HOT option menu.

Also AM2R beats Super Metroid because the controls aren't as delayed and unresponsive fite me if you want but don't dare lying to yourself that SM have tight controls.
>>
>>376014096
RTS, Fighting, Tactical/Strategy games (Except for Civ) are all genres I wish I could get into.

I hate MMOs and MOBAs with a passion
>>
Fighting.

I can't do all those crazy inputs and wield the joystick I'm doing calligraphy.
>>
>>376016845
Try Tekken.
>>

Oh, hey, you drop your (me) back there.
>>

Pretty much just games with no originality, like "third person ARPG in a generic fantasy setting" or "JRPG in medieval/fantasy setting where everyone is a stereotypical anime character", or "zombie-survival-arena-shooter", or "MASSIVE sand box open world INFINITE SPACE game where you can explore THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE", etc.

As for any specific genre? I dunno, I can usually find at least one game from a given genre that I like.I guess "visual novel" games a la Telltale, because it feels like a waste of money to play them myself when i could simply watch a playthrough on youtube, or, you know, watch a movie.
>>
>>376014096
Grand strategy. It just feels so complicated and boring.
>>
>>376017440
>heh, I hate games without *pushes up glasses* "originality"
>openly admits to watching full playthroughs of games on youtube
>>
>>376014096
Puzzle games but i guess thats a tad more common

That being said, hentai games i guess? The gameplay is never goid and i could be watching actual hentai porn instead, plus it just feels weird to play
>>
Turn-based tactics games. At least, most I've seen seem to be just RNG. The only one I got good at was Silent Storm 2, & I think that's more because it had a very intuitive a system.

RTS. I love lots of RTS's & have completed their single-player campaigns, but have never really been able to become competitive in multiplayer. Then again when I used to play RTS's I actually liked, I didn't have internet to try mp, so who knows, I may have been unbeatable in Homeworld mp if I had the opportunity.

Grand Strategy, again I've enjoyed single-player campaigns a lot, but honestly the only one I've ever managed to finish was the first Shogun TW. The more complex & feature-rich it gets, the more of a chore & timesink each turn gets.
>>
>>376014096
Horror games. I've tried man, I've really tried. They just don't click for me.
I mean, I can barely stand that haunted house level in Vampire the Masquerade. Doing that to myself for an entire game? Hell naw.
I've played through about 1/2 of The Suffering because the enemies were cool as fuck.
>>
>>376017560
>heh, I made you sound dumb, that means you're wrong. *tips fedora*
Also, I said if I wanted to, I could. My point was that there's not really much gameplay that you wouldn't get the same enjoyment out of as just watching.
>>
>>376014265
Hey, me too. I get too distracted in building up my base and then I get rushed. After that, I feel dejected so I quit.
>>
>>376014096
Anything with a 'pro' scene.
>>
MMOs and MOBAs. I just don't give a shit about them. Actually I don't really care for games with a huge focus on multiplayer in general. If it's in another genre then I can usually get into a bit, but if its a MMO or MOBA then I get bored of it real fast.
