Probably people calling me an autistic loser for avoiding them. I don't even log onto Steam anymore since you can't truly go invisible. I've got issues.

While we're on the topic, how do trading card drops work these days? I played a game for 2 minutes once, closed it and got a drop, played it 2 more times the next day for 15 minutes and got the last 2 drops. Is it game dependant? I've noticed that I only seem to get cards when I close the game now, although I don't know if it's because I wasn't playing long enough.

How can I get a booster pack?
Once you have received all of your card drops, you become eligible for a booster pack, which is a set of 3 trading cards that may include both basic and foil cards. Booster packs are granted randomly to eligible users as more badges are crafted by members of the community. Make sure you log in to Steam each week to maintain eligibility.

Once eligible, your Steam Level increases your rate of receiving a booster pack drop:
Level 10: +20% increase in your drop rate
Level 20: +40% increase in your drop rate
Level 30: +60% increase in your drop rate
Level 40: +80% increase in your drop rate
Level 50: +100% increase in your drop rate (i.e. the rate has doubled)

I got two friend requests yesterday after playing a bunch of blazblue. I assume they just wanted to mock my poor play.

Easiest way to level up is to create badges.

1. Get keys for shit games that have cards. There are a bunch of places that do giveaways like IndieGala, DHL, etc.

2. Install and idle shit games one at a time until all cards have dropped.

3. Sell any doubles. For these shit games the common going rate is 4 or 5 cents.

4. Take that money and buy cards you need to complete a badge. Check the sales history. Common price to set your buy order at is 3 or 4 cents. Do not buy booster packs unless it costs the same or less than the average price of two cards.

5. If you have patience, don't actually craft the badge until a major sale like Xmas. During these times there is an event badge that takes ten cards to get. Crafting a game badge during this time will also net you a sales event card and possibly a sales event item. This makes levelling the sales badge easy and helps raise your Steam level.

6. Once you start making badges you get emoticons and backgrounds. Depending on what you get either sell them or turn them into gems. Enough gems can craft booster packs (only one per day, cost varies). Depending on game and drops this can net you more to sell.
