So about the firearms in the game; anyone here use them regularly? I find myself rarely ever using them and I when watched gameplay vids/streams, mostly the same. Hand to hand combat is so much more fun.

Can't speak for 0, but in the rest of the games they're nice to pick up off of someone you beat for that amazing Heat gain, but they feel better left off as cheat items for an Ex Hard run to dick around with. I can't tell you how fun it was in 3 to get the Golden Gun and just slaughter every mook along the way to Wesker and Mine without a care in the world since I'd been fistfighting them for like 80 hours prior. Can't wait to get it in 4 as well, just need to do that garbage golf minigame.

Well, keep in mind they only fire so many shots. On hard in 1 through 4 they deal about a forth of a health bar every shot and you get like...14 shots on a pistol I want to say. Shotgun deals way more but you have to aim it close enough and it has less shots obviously. Bosses also take drastically reduced damage, you basically deal half of what it would do to mooks.
