HD can mean just the general resolution you know. It doesn't always mean high res textures too, hell, most "HD" releases are only running the games at a higher res than the original release wit the same old textures. In the case of sprite-based games, they usually just add "smoothing" that looks like shit blurring the pixels so they don't look like pixels and making everything a muddy mess. Pixel-art-type shit should never be smoothed, it looks like shit, why do some devs do this with no option to turn it off? Do people enjoy giving their eyes cancer?

It was advertised as a "complete visual overhaul" with better textures but maybe 10% are actually higher quality. The textures you spend most of the game looking at (castle walls/interiors) all still look like hot garbage.

Which "HD" games aren't marketed that way though? And they all have the same shit textures as the originals. The only ones I can really think of that actually updated shit are the Halo Anniversary ones.
