The third party stuff is precisely why the GameCube was better than the N64 overall. But we're talking first party quality here. And only F-Zero GX is on the level of the games that I listed for the N64. It's also made by Sega, btw.

I don't get why anyone would buy a Switch right now.

It has two games (that are also available on WiiU), and the next interesting game comes out around Christmas.

There's absolutely no word if it will receive VC games or apps such as Netflix, Youtube, etc.

It's receiving support from indie shovelware which everyone and their mother already played five years ago. The actual console will be too weak to actually support newly released games so there will be no third party support at all.

At the same time Nintendo isn't phasing out the 3DS and is still releasing games on it and even a new, cheaper version of the console (2DS XL).

For a console it is too expensive and for a handheld: most kids nowadays are playing on their phones and parents who buy their kids Nintendo won't pay some $300 plus $70 games and crazy expensive accessories.

If you want to play Zelda just get a used Wii-U (or take a week off and rent one) and enjoy a large library of Nintendo games. No reason at all to buy a Switch.
