They had to remake EVERYTHING because it never went through Konami's thick skulls to back their shit up. They had to remake the game code, using their only backup code PRINTED ON HUNDREDS OF YARDS OF PAPER
Due to above, tons of bugs glitches happened
Framerate abysmal
Effects and atmosphere completely different
For a collection, it sure is lacking the first game for no reason whatsoever

The problem isn't the source code being missing... BluePoint used retail copies of MGS2 and 3 and reverse engineered them to make the HD Remasters, but Konami cheaped out and got some mobile game company to do it and they didn't know how to do that so they just used old shitty code.

4 is probably missing since it clearly has some issues with the code (judging by the wonky PC version) and they probably couldn't do it, or it was rushed out and they didn't have time.

ive got the collection on 360 and ps3, which is the better version to play silent hill 3? i dont have a computer that can play it nor do i have a ps2. I borrowed my friends ogxbox to play silent hill 2 and wept with joy so whats my best option between the 360 and the ps3 version of SH 3? someone please help everyone just says play it on pc and i dont have a damn pc

I had no major issues with Silent Hill 3 on the Xbox aside from slowdown after unlocking achievements (which goes away after a few seconds) and the machine gun sound glitch (which happens on both versions anyway). SH2 is a complete fucking mess on Xbox though so avoid that one like the plague.

Bluepoint developed an entire system of reverse engineering retail copies to play on other platforms. Sony hired them for a number of HD collections which came out pretty solid.
