I'm not that guy and i don't want to derail this thread but fact is that DMC went downhill after the first game, because of fucked up development and questionable design choices.

I think DMC has the better bosses, at least of the ones that stand out in each series DMC ones stand out the most. Soundtrack i don't know, DMC1's is perfect, i don't even remember what the fuck plays in 2, 3 has some excellent tracks but some real shit ones and 4 is jsut forgettable, i think NG might be more consistent but maybe not as good.

I don't get how on earth is DMC treated like such a high-profile franchise when it's only true good game is DMC3. 1 aged badly, 2 was unspoken dogshit, 4 was polarizing and the less we say about DmC the better.

And yet it gets treated like it was up there with the big names in gaming. Even God of War had more consistency as a franchise.

Is it me or is DMC4 super easy compared to 3? The enemies don't even feel like they are trying to attack you most of the time. It's more like they're programmed to do an attack after x amount of time

Motherfucker, anyone who got DT is pretty capable of beating the game without it, after all, you need the beat the HIGHEST difficulty to unlock it. And to unlock Super Costumes with with infinite Swords, Quick Silver and Doppelganger, you need to beat Bloody Palace, is is probably even harder more diffcult.

Anyone who gets uses Super Costumes by this point are just playing around because they're pretty much already did everything the game has to offer.

Honestly, it all boils down to whether or not you prefer styling on enemies and pushing yourself to find new ways to make even bosses look like complete jokes, or if you prefer the more oppressive, more brutal NG combat where you need to be more efficient to not die, unless you're the most top-tier sort of player where you actually know how to be stylish in NG.

I personally prefer the more free-form DMC combat where you have much more options available to your disposal at once, but different strokes.

One thing about NG is that the plot and writing really isn't all that good. I know it's just an action game so ultimately, it doesn't really matter that much, but the thing about DMC, W101, MGR, and even Bayonetta to an extent, is that the characters, setting, and even the narratives are interesting, so that people have a little something to talk about beyond the gameplay. I'm someone who has beaten Black and 2 multiple times, and I can fucking tell you that I was never really invested in either's plot.

If Team Ninja ever makes a fourth game, they should hire Suda51 to write the game's story or something. Make me care about the characters and care about what's going on, to some extent.

I've never really played any of the Devil May Cry games. Not enough to have considered them really enjoyed, at least. Should I just get the third one from Steam? I don't want it to buy a shitty awful port.

I did. The game is almost, almost kinda fun on DMD, because shit doesn't just roll over and die, but still bogged the fuck down by mostly the air bosses that you can only fire your fucking guns at all day.
