Non-working joy-cons is basically the same deal, it was a small set of them at immediate launch and to my knowledge only in the US. Probably one faulty batch from one factory that shipped to US, there's been no reports of it outside of that.

With that being said, I'd still wait. My brother and one of my friends have Switches, and I've enjoyed playing BOTW, Puyo Puyo and Bomberman on them, but they're not anything that I can't experience elsewhere. The Switch is a cool piece of kit and all of the difference play options are cool but it's not worth considering until Splatoon 2, ARMS and Odyssey are out. Then again I'm a poorfag, if you've got plenty of disposable income then go ahead and blow your wad

Y'know what? For once, I'll be nice, I won't respond with the infamous and actual legit advice of "lurk more", but the actual thing you needed to lurk for to understand.

/v/ never hated video games, /v/ loves it. /v/ has played so many games in it's lifetime and of so much variety that they have done something the video game industry can't comprehend. They acquired standards, or tastes, as some call it.

So when /v/ sees an entry to their thing of favor, they naturally jump to critique it's shortcomings and see if the pros out-do the cons. Sometimes, that is not the case, and considering the most marketed games are those that take the least risks and least strive for excellence or to further what is possible in video games.

Naturally, they jump to critique it, and if the cons outweigh the pros, they put it in the pile of games which have no real need to be played. Games like Skyrim, MKX, LoZ series, belong in that pile for shit games for anyone who's worth their experience in video games.

In the end, /v/ loves video games and loves to see it be developed and challenged, /v/ loves to see the genre of media further itself over time.

So /v/ doesn't hate video games, /v/ hates shitty video games.

I've not experienced a single Switch with actual defects - this is coming from someone in game retail, meaning I'd have to deal with the fallout of broken Switches - and my bullshit detector tells me that you haven't either (although you'll pretend otherwise). The hardware problems were a tiny minority pushed by traditional gaming media (remember when /v/ hated those guys?) and a couple of memelord youtubers. Don't pretend the hardware is the issue. The hardware has a few random faults, as do all modern consoles, but it's generally fine.

The problem is that even with Mario, Scatoon and so on, the Switch literally won't get a killer app until 2018 onwards, which is unacceptable. At least call the console out for its legitimate failings rather than the ebin hardware fail compilation you saw on youtube.

I have one have had no issues and have been playing botw, mario kart and shovel knight. If you've played those don't bother getting it.

I can say the portability makes a difference and use it often.

The last consoles I actually went out to buy were the GC, Xbox and PS2 their launch year. My God their fucking library was LEGENDARY so when the PS3 and 360 came out promoting online heavily I hesitated and ended up missing the next two gens. I recently bought a switch and I have to say I love it. I can catch up on thing so missed on the Wii u, which I can't really say for the PS4 and Xbox one for their previous gens if I don't want to drop a ton for some drm shit. Physical games 4lyfe
