Why does /v/ think ecelebs help sell games?
They do if the game looks any good
>what is control group

They do if there is more to the game then what the let's players show.
It won't help sell a movie game but will sell something like Dark Souls.

Have you considered that without the eceleb shilling sophie's curse would have sold even less than it did?
>It's a 'no amount of marketing can save a shitty ip' episode again.

>Completely trashy jump scare games wouldn't sell without shitty jumpscare streamers
It's almost like you didn't think this through anon.

Those channels get millions of views regardless of the game they're showing. I doubt Sophie's Choice wouldn't have sold at all without that exposure.
Influencers are quickly becoming a key component of video game marketing.

The part at the top claims Sophie got more shills but the bottom shows tons more YouTube activity for embers
The kind of people who watch lets-players play horror games aren't the kind of people to buy and play horror games themselves

You know, there's the thing that one game might be better than the other
Streaming "sells" games by showing them, if the game is not that interesting it won't help in the least
And spooky games don't tend to work either because people already got their share of scares watching the videos
So your image doesn't really work
