Well it obviously has a better story than the SMT games, can't really say when it comes to the others, haven't played them. It's story is equal to P4's, so still good, but IS is clearly superior is what I was getting at.

The re-tread of the plot lasts for far too long, the initial villain looks cool but disappears far too quickly. Tatsuya's reason for avoiding you throughout the entire game is because it will destroy the world if he tells Maya what's going on - but then he just decides to tell her everything so that the plot can go forward, when nothing had changed. It must makes most of the game a waste, with no reason to justify it.
It doesn't help that the only worthwhile main character is Baofu (Who is genuinely fantastic).

In P4 you can talk to party members in the healing rooms in dungeons (where jewfox offers to heal you) and they'll talk amongst themselves about their social link ranks (ie if Naoto and Yukiko are there and you've romanced both there'll be awkward discussion where one mentions leaving their socks at your place, and the other getting confused at this. Otherwise it'll be about the events of the last social link rank you did with them).

Otherwise there's not really anything like it in P3/4. P1/2's cast have a lot of optional dialogue.

Man, I loved the overall aesthetic and setting of Soul Hackers as well as the exclusive demon designs in it, but the gameplay could have been so much better. It would be great if they made another Devil Summoner game that wasn't Raidou or bring the first one over in English.
