A solid 30 minutes of stabbing Flamelurker for 52 damage a piece while getting near-death all the time. I don't think I ever, never felt that much satisfaction ever again, in any shape or form

Of course. Also should give context that I often just detest most WRPG. A good story isn't enough of a premise to carry me through a 60+ hour ordeal because often gameplay in WRPGs just feels garbage to me. I can't exactly explain why but auto-attack based systems tend to drive me up the wall.

It just feels like this bad mix of two styles that should never have fused. Either give me complete direct control or just give menus. I think VATS in Fallout is neat because it lets you do both but I just can't into auto attack based systems.

It just happens that those games are from Japan. I tried Mass Effect 2 at a friends house, and while I hadn't ever really played mass effect, I could see that it still had RPG influences and that felt great.

I know, its such a strange little thing for me and if the game is really good I've learned to adapt but to me its just the fact that I'm not at all in control of my charatcer/s actions and that pulls me out of the game so hard. I know pressing menu commands is so tertiary but auto attacking makes me feel like I should just be watching the game play itself, i know good autoattack games have you doing a lot more buffing/debuffing and ability assigning but to me something so small and essential just can't be compromised
