Crash was very impressive looking at the time, compared to mario 64, and it only got better and better with it's sequels

ps1 sold much more than the n64, and the Crash games had amazing graphics at the time.
And Crash was more of a standard platformer in comparison to Mario 64.
Both games are great tho.

Crash had sequels on the same system, where as mario only had one game.

But anyway, he's a charismatic character born on a console that sold a lot, and the games are solid (the 1st is obviously the weakest). No surprises here

It's cause Sony fags only think their exclusives are good and are too insecure to appreciate their competition.

Crash was just naughty dog ripping the SMW formula and coming up with a really uninspired way to translate that to 3d. SM64 actually tried to push the genre and after ND was done milking crash they conformed to the collectathon and made J&D. Suddenly sonybros were creaming over a genre that was the flagship for the previous gen of their competitor.

I personally like the level design of Crash more, the corridor levels allow for a fairly simple game for those casual players, but can also offer real challenge to those players going for a completion.
besides, Mario 64 is just another 3D collectathon, and Spyro was the best series for collectathons, Banjo a close second
