You live in Amami, a highly advanced city in Japan that's technologically years ahead of every other country. A recent computer program created by Algon Soft. called "Paradigm X", allows users to log on and explore a three-dimensional virtual city.

You play as the main character who is part of an elite hacker group known as "Spookies", who along with his best friend Hitomi, stumble across a " COMP Gun", which is a portable weapon able to summon Demons.

Hitomi becomes possessed by a demon living in the gun, known as "Nemessa", who is able to phase you and herself physically into Paradigm X. Along with her and the other members of Spookies, you set out to uncover where the demons invading Amami are coming from by exploring the virtual reality and the real world.


The game is a 22 - 30 hour JRPG with first-person dungeon crawling, and fast paced combat up to 6 enemies and players (You, Nemessa, and four other demons). The game requires you managing Demon currency known as "MAG", which is consumed when walking with summoned demons or when summoning them.

Besides dozens of newly added demons to this enhanced remake of an enhanced port; you're also given the 3DS exclusive "Nemchi" feature, which when using Play Coins, allows the player to summon more 3DS exclusive demons. Also new to the series is the chance to fight both Raidou Kuzunoha XIV and Raido Kuzunoha XIV at the NG+ dungeon.

Honestly, DMC3 has a lot of legitimate flaws and issues. But despite this, it does so many things right and exemplifies the very best that video games have to offer that I also consider it a masterpiece regardless of the flaws.

Dragon's Crown is my probably favorite game of all time. The last patch that added the extra difficulty mode and a ton of new gear effects really kept me playing for a long time.
