Just torrent the pirate version and use that. I think it's a FairLight release. I use DSfix 2.2 with it or something and it works.

doesnt really matter unless the problem is in a save or config file which is located somewhere else and not removed by deleting the program folder

and save folders for steam games are always either in appdata, my documents or steam i think but its easier googling then checking all three
