You will want mods that add in more armors and weapons so you're not seeing the same 8 armor sets on enemies. Immersive armors, immersive weapons, and immersive creatures for enemies are pretty much required.

Combat is sort of screwed anyway but there are various ones on the nexus that give bosses larger movepools, etc.

I disabled that one mod after the game crashed on taking the first Farengar's quest. Although I'm not sure if it was necessary.

Skyrim is pretty bad, but mods can boost it all the way up to pretty good.
It will never be GOAT tier.

I would suggest:

In terms of aesthetics? Yes. The problem is

1. SAM alters the basic shape, meaning male texture and schlong mods for SOS are not compatible. There's some really nice cock mods you won't be able to use.

2. VRAM eater because it will apply different diffuse and different normals to every male NPC.

3. The Sam/Samuel morphs look incredibly stupid unless you're some kind of muscle or fat fetishist. And even if you like the morphs you'll be unable to see them on non-vanilla armor unless you patch it.

4. There are a lot of various small issues (like the texture hand problem) with it since it was basically abandoned after its author had a meltdown.
