Kotor 1 but with all the mechanics of Kotor 2.

Kotor 1 feels just right in terms of story, but all of the things like saber and weapon customization, player to party interactions, and worlds of 2 arent in it.

I love them both and when I play one I have to play the other.

Actually you can play kotor 2 without playing 1. You will miss few things, but everything about it is explained in game anyway. You would just feel about mentioned events from K1 like you feel about Mandalorian Wars about which you can too only listen in kotor 1 and 2

It's more important to know 6 movies, prequels in particular and knowing some other stuff from legends or even actual canon helps too. You can play Kotor 1 without knowing anything about Star Wars and still have fun. Kotor 2 requires you to be a fan of Star Wars or you won't understand shit.

Still there is no reason to not play Kotor 1 even if you won't enjoy it that much. Beat it at least once like i did.
