Set it to 60fps, remember the key to toggle the 30fps cap and toggle when you're sliding a long set of stairs or you'll clip through the ground. I'm one of those guys that thinks that the "authenticity" of a game is what the game was originally developed for. In that case, if you want to see how the game holds up on its home field then play the PS3 version and just go in blind.

If you're a guy who likes graphics/frame rates to be as stable as possible as well as a whole variety of options after one playthrough that doesn't just conform to the standards in-game, then PC is the way to go, especially if you've got a PC that can handle the game being upscaled pretty highly.

The reason DS1 wasn't 60FPS is because Japs like to tie physics to framerate, which is why 60FPS DS1 can be janky and why SotFS on PC and current gen consoles had issues with durability. DS1 was a bad port but not because it wasn't 60FPS.

since there is some kind of confusion going on, let me clarify what i meant as a sign of goodwill, haha! :)

with the apparent lack of miracles also goes in hand a low FTH (that is Faith for newbies) stat.
Since lightning damage scales with your faith stat, it would be pointless to boost any weapon with it since any kind of damage boost lowers the base scaling (in case of the curved dragon ugs that is an S in dex) of the given weapon, resulting in a serious underperformance damage wise and also in branding yourself as an utter fucking moron. I've been playing DS1 lately and I can't believe how active this game still is. I'm playing on PS3 and have had no problems summoning or being summoned. Never finished DS1 but I have finished Demon's Souls and Bloodborne. I think this is my favorite so far. The way the levels are designed is almost Metroidvania. I love it.

Going for a quality build so far. Just trying any weapons I can find that don't have ridiculous STR/DEX requirements.

I have the "Prepare to Die Edition" version of the game. I'm excited to try the Abyss Walker stuff. If it's half as good as The Old Hunters then I'll be happy.

What makes Dark Souls 3 so fucking boring? I can play 1 and even 2 (though I don't favor it much) and still have a fun time.

As soon as I boot up Dark Souls 3 and reach the menu screen, I feel like shutting the game down. I already know the outcome of anything I could possibly do.

the original version of das2 is much more difficult than SOTFS imo, even though SOTFS adds a bunch of enemies and annoying npc invaders (and a lot of them). Also rare items in the original DaS2 are actually rare while in SOTFS you get a ton of "rare" items right at the beginning of the game.

It's the rolling system. Going back to 4 directions and a semi-circle felt clunky even after DS2, let alone DS3 & BB.

I don't really see why you care about what people in general think of the Souls series when all of the issues with the later games come as a result of the developers not doing as good a job as they could've, more specifically how DS 2 went in the wrong direction with regards to spamming enemies and upping unfair difficulty. If anything the wider recognition of the series has created healthy debate about what made DeS and DaS so great to begin with, as compared to later entries.

I agree that they should have brought the heide knight armor set(s) to dark souls 3 but the Cathedral Knight set kind of fills that void. When I finally get a laptop that can run dark souls 3 my first playthrough (as always with first playthoughs of a souls game) I will choose the knight class and then farm the cathedral knight set as fast as possible.

I've noticed I've gone from using shield on everything, to rolling everything, to just casually walking past their attack animations.
