The Dwemer wanted to use Numidium and the Heart to escape Mundus. The problem is that their ideology was completely fucked. Everything was based on denial, they thought everything on Mundus was not real (only part of the Dream) and that the Dwemer race was the only "real" thing.
When Kagrenac activated Numidium during the Battle of the Red Mountain it denied the entire race out of existence and absorbed them into his own skin.
Some Dwemer ghosts are still around (probably died before being poofed out by Numidium) and there's Yagrum Bagarn too, which managed to live because he wasn't at Mundus at the time.

I'm very rusty on these two guys so I'll try my best. They are what's left of Anu and Padomay, after their clashed and created Aurbis. Sithis and Anuiel are still only concepts, not actual gods with powers similar to et'Ada.

They are constructs (natural or man-made) that hold a metaphysical connection to Mundus, and keep it stabilized. Most of the Towers are copies of the Ada-Mantia Tower, created by the Aedra. It is the most important Tower as it holds the deepest connections to Mundus and Nirn. The Red Mountain is a second close. They are also representations of the Wheel of Aurbis.

Some anon may have to retell that part because I barely remember, but what I do know is in terms of the TeS universe they're two abstract consciousnesses of the god mind who's contradicting ideas form the lower realms.

The TeS universe is described as a wheel, the Aedra earth-bones being the spokes and the spaces in between being oblivion, with nirn in the center. When a being achieves CHIM they can see the world at a distance and see that it is a wheel. When you view a wheel from its side it becomes a vertical line. O = I. This became symbolic to Lokhan who is believed to have orchestrated the creation of the TeS universe to get people to achieve Amanerath, which means becoming a new dreamer and thus a creator of another reality. As a result, Lorkhan through crazy abstract meme magic made several towers or tower-like objects into special reality holding pins, each with a core. Keep in mind most of these towers weren't specially made (beyond the Admamant Tower) or anything. They're shit like the white-gold tower or the Red Mountain and their cores can have even weirder origins. They've essentially been memed into being special for merely coming into existence.

Each tower can be deactivated using its core and if they all deactivate everything falls apart and the universe goes back to being a pre0creation state. The Aldmari Dominion wants to do this because they think being an abstract thought-spirit is a superior existence.

Yes and No. the difference between Aedra and Daedra is about whether or not the mer consider them kin. They are still basically the same entity, which has a name but I can't remember it so I call them thought-spirits. Most Aedra surrendered their freedom as thought-spirits to basically "role-play" laws of reality on Nirn. When they did so they became Earth Bones and their "bodies" became visible as planets. Are they physically there? The TeS universe is basically a dream that can be influenced by memes. Khajit once memed themselves to the moon which in some sources is considered a piece of Lorkhan's "body".

Daedra are mainly thought-spirits that didn't contribute to the world. Imagine being this god-like thing and all these other gods create a weird reality simulation around you, that is a Daedra. They all thought it was retarded but love to fuck with it. They have their own "simulations" in Oblivion.

A thing to note is that not all Aedra became Earthbones, but this doesn't make them Daedra.

Trinimac is considered an Aedra because he was basically the sword and shield of Akatosh and in a weirder era was physically leading elves to purge Lorkhan's boys. Of course he got eaten and changed into a "daedra".

It really depends. In most cases no, they worship the same god under a different name. But there are exceptions.

Akatosh is the weirdest among Aedra. He didn't quite become the same kind of Earthbone his brethern did. He sits between role-playing time and being "free", described as being "crystalized". Due to his importance, he's become subject to bunch of personality splintering due to stupid shit mortals did.

If I recall correctly he was originally Aka'tusk, Then a bunch of sentient Gorillas native to Valenwood did something retarded and Aka'tusk split into Aka'tosh and some other time-deity.

There was also something with ancient Men not wanting to worship an elf god and spliting him as well (I think his is the origin of his two heads, human head and dragon head).

There has also been people claiming that Akatosh and Lorkhan were once the same deity, though I forgot their evidence or reasoning.

The Numidium is a part of a system called the Brasswalk, a path to Amaranth (becoming a dreamer). The idea here is the Dwemer would use tonal magic (they learned to alter reality with sound) on the heart of Lorkhan to trick the universe into thinking they were a part of the Numidium. In theory the machine would serve as a vessel of their will and dream a new reality with them either as the dreamer or simply to inhabit a new universe that made sense. It didn't work though and they became its skin. When its activated it becomes the "god of atheism" and makes Akatosh doubt his existence, destroying time.

Why can't I into skyrim? I played through Oblivion just fine, the sidequests were really fun, the expansions were good and even the potato faces didn't bother me much. Lorkhan is not an actual being. Talos is a physical mantle of the absence of akatosh. He remains in existence due to his mortal body (hjalti) and akatusk soul (ysmir) but the last third of him represents an absence of the other 2/3rds. Talos will remain in power so long as humanity exists and akatusk is worshipped

You'd lose a lot if you went back to Daggerfall though. No skills for conjuration, spears, blocking, four categories of armor, alchemy, enchanting, repairing armor, etc.

Daggerfall having more skills than Morrowind is only true because it had nine fucking language skills, which are passive and don't even let you talk to anything, having very little effect on gameplay. Consolidate those into one skill, let's just call it "beast languages", and you'll find Daggerfall and Morrowind are in fact equal in pure quantity, which makes sense considering that Morrowind added as much or more than it took away when it comes to actual gameplay mechanics and depth.

The one skill I'd keep from Daggerfall that wasn't carried over to Morrowind is climbing. That was an actually useful skill that allowed for vertical mobility to non-magic users without needed potions or something else to supplement them.
