I haven't replayed Nier. It has been 90 hours to get all but a few achieves and over half the endings, playing on hard/very hard. Nioh is good, don't get me wrong I enjoy the game a lot. But it's just another souls clone which is becoming a dime a dozen genre. That's not really a bad thing in my eyes, but Nioh did nothing outstanding, it just copied an idea and did it decently. Short spoiler free answer - Yes. If you want more info but it will contain spoilers read below.

You play the same 'main' story twice with many difference play sequences, characters who have entirely new game play mechanics than the previous, and the narrative is from each characters perspective to tell the whole story. After the first two endings, the story continues beyond both of them in all new gameplay & narrative. Upon completing this you will unlock chapter select so you can go back and get all your side endings / quests that you may have missed, do the secret bonus bosses etc. To get the full main story, you need to complete routes A, B, C, D and E. C,
D, and E can all be completed within 30ish mins of eachother as you can chapter select back to the final choices.

Depends what you are looking for. If you are a fan of Drakengard/Nier then go with Automata. If you want better gameplay but don't mind a story that's all over the place and doesn't make much sense Nioh. If you want a strong narrative the Horizon.

Overall I'd say Horizon because I like the world building, the lore and the story and I didn't love Nioh so much. Nier I haven't played yet but everything points as it being great.

You really can't go wrong with any of the three.

Horizon is pretty good. It has it's flaws but the combat was pretty near imo. If you crank up the difficulty it forces you to approach the machines in different ways. Also, the story is decent so far(haven't beat it). The voice acting and facial animations are pretty bad though.

As for horizon's supposed 'enemy' variety... Yeah that doesn't matter fuck all when you can use the same tactic vs pretty much every enemy in the game. It will give you the most content out of your money, has finely crafted gameplay and not Platinum's B Team rehashing Bayonetta 1 for the 50th time, Coop, PvP just got added, first DLC just came out that adds even more content.

Automata is a highschool philosophy narrative that somehow manages to have more repetitive enemies than NioH(there are about 10 different enemy types and they all get a different coat of paint and damage/health values as the game goes on) along with one of the worst casts of protagonists I've ever had the displeasure of experiencing. Automata literally sold on Yoshida's design and 2B's model, it's a fact, because the game itself is nothing special. The only legitimately well done thing about it is the music, and that's because Okabe is a fucking genius.
