I remember back in the day when video game clothing was near-unheard of. If you ever managed to find a shirt with Mario or Sonic on it, it was kind of impressive, or maybe in the later '90s you could order something from like the Nintendo Power catalog, or the inserts from some Sega games that actually ha some pretty cool Sonic & Knuckles clothing, as I recall.

Now there's fucking obnoxious gamer gear everywhere. The few vidya shirts I do own, I hardly wear because it's fucking embarrassing. The one shirt I still wear on occasion is my Mario 64 shirt, which I got from Nintendo Power in like 1997. It still fits, so I feel like it's grandfathered in to my wardrobe.

I've only ever worn a capelet; It's like the mantle on a jacket or a sturdy scarf. A heavy, waterproof, outer layer over your shoulders to keep you warm and dry. Basically allows you to wear a lighter more breathable coat.
No idea how a full cape would be practical aside from situations where you sit still outdoors for hours at a time.
