Chara Design was always bad but now it's bad and cliché. And even then, must admit Kid MC for a serious Open World RPG is pretty strange.

Xenoblade Chronicles 1 is one of TWO jRPGs in the world that I legit enjoyed (was bred and raised on western RPGs and japanese action games).

2)If you think that is "overdesigned" you have no clue what "overdesigned" actually means.

The overworld is just Xenoblade Chronicles, so it's good, but the character design, including the weapons and their clothing is just awful, so I suppose the equipment is gonna look awful too, because it was already pretty bad in XC, but at least the characters looked like the fit into the world.
