The artstyle of hots is way worse, the character models looking nice in the model viewer wont save that. Yeah, lol has some stupid skins and outdated character models that somewhat ruon the games artstyle but hots isjust an absolute inconsistent clusterfuck to look at.

The gameplay is a lot shittier designed too. It gives a nice first impression but it doesnt have jackshit replay value. The different maps are just differwnt skins for the same map. 90%< of the heroes dont offer anything to learn after 1-2 matches. Pretty much everyone drops the game after a few days since launch and the game is on huge life support to make it look like its a somewhat relevant game and not just another of tons of failed dota/lol competitors.

I've played league on high level for beta / s1 and partially s2, clocked 10k hours (dont ask), but in the end you just play league for the teamfights. The laning phase on high level is pure cancer and just fucking last hitting with maybe 1 or 2 jungle ganks. It's a very boring game once you play it like that, that's why I moved to hots.

the laning phase is just pure cancer desu and the only rewarding thing in it was trashing your enemy opponent or jungler, but on high level a skirmish like that happens maybe 1-3 times in the first 3 minutes, so .. yeah I moved and never looked back. League is pretty shit once you realize that.

All of the things given as examples for its complexity don't apply until high elo and don't get really intesive until you hit high diamond. But don't try and say HoTS is more complex because that's just a straight up lie. One of HoTS main strengths is that it isn't complex and how easy it is to drop in and play and quick and simple match. Play to its strengths not is weaknesses.

It is much faster now. You still have to wait a bit, but it seems like they have some kind of checkpoints that you can hop back into mid-game. You still have to catch up but you'll never have to catch up through 20 minutes of gameplay, its at most 1-2 minutes now. It's still not a perfect solution but they would have to completely redo the engine to get much better than that. HotS is still based in the SC2 engine after all.
