No, it's a luxury hobby
High end rigs gets you higher resolutions, higher framerate, higher settings
If you've got the cash to spare then why not go and max out the hobby you spend all your free time on
I'm a student so I'm fine with my mid-tier rig where I have to turn settings down, but when I'd have the disposable income I sure wouldn't cheap out on my hobby
